Coming Events -

1/16/2009 7pm Pack meeting. Cake walk and auction. Michelle H and Wendy will do check in. Roxanne will bring a radio. Den 7 will do flags.

The cake walk is when every scout makes a cake with his family and brings it to the pack meeting to be part of our cakewalk. This is one of our fund raisers for our pack and our goal is to make at least $120.00. The idea is to get as creative as you can.

Examples of cakes in the past are: football game, the world, treasure chest, cat litter box, underwear, and guitar….

When you arrive each scout will have to sign in and get a number for his cake and a wristband. He puts his cake on the table to be voted on by all the other scouts (categories are most scout like, funniest, tastiest, creative and grossest) The cake with the most votes in each category will be auctioned off. (we will have 5 extra cakes to take their places; Wendy, Michelle C, Christy, Angie R and Susan H will all bring an extra cake)

After the auction, we will do the cakewalk and ONLY THE SCOUTS that brought a cake and have a wristband on can be in the cakewalk or there won’t be enough cakes for those who did bring one. We play music and when the music stops and you're standing on the number that is picked you go pick out a cake that is left on the table to take home. Please pick one fast so we can keep moving on, they might put a time limit on your pick. We keep doing this until there are no more cakes. (PLEASE make sure your scout is aware he probably won’t go home with his cake that he brought).

After the scout cakewalk is over we will do the same thing for the siblings except no voting or auction. Again, the sibling can only be in the cakewalk if they brought a cake and have a wristband on. Example Paul-scout brings a horse cake, he will be in the scout cake walk, his sister Jen brings a butterfly cake she will be in the SIBLING cake walk) If the family only brings one cake- only the scout can be in the cake walk.

Please bring your checkbook if you want to bid on the cakes in the auction. We do let the kids do the bidding (we look for parents head nods for the oks as well) so let your scout know if he can bid or not and what his highest bid can be. Last years highest cake went for almost $30.00 and we have had them as high as $80.00 just to give you an idea. Hope this helps-specially for our new scouts and parents.

2/3/2009 7pm next committee meeting all are welcome to come. Same church pack meetings are at but upstairs instead of the basement.

2/21/2009 Saturday Blue and Gold set up time to be announced later

2/22/09 Sunday 1-4 Blue and Gold dinner. Each den will need to make placemats for their dens tables. Seating will be arranged by den #. Please sit where your den number is. We will be selling tickets for the Blue and gold and the cost is $7.00 per person including scout. You are more then welcome to invite aunts, uncles and grandparents. This is our second biggest fundraiser and this years goal is $1200 or more. You need to buy ticket to get in even if you are not going to eat. Sorry.

We will have a magician and a silent auction as well as a raffle. Hopefully we will have some great prizes like last year. Raffle tickets will be $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. You will need to order your tickets and pay for them by 2/3/09. See your den leader for more information.

On arrival to the Blue and Gold you will need to check in and if your name is on the list that you paid you will be given a wrist band that needs to be worn for the entire event. Again this is our 2nd biggest fund raiser and without this we would not be able to pay for pine wood derby cars, boats and rockets for every scout or pay for the two camp outs we have every year. Please keep this in mind for this event. 100% of the money made goes back to our scouts. If you have any donations you would like to make or know of any friends or business that would like to donate, please contact Christy, Sue or Wendy.

2/28/09 Steelers game 7:30pm you must rsvp and pay by 2/23/08, see you den leader or Nancy.
